Privacy Policy for GlowDown

GlowDown is a for-fun app that lets you photograph a space — a desk, room, gaming setup, and more — and get a playful, AI-style “roast,” a Setup Score, and redesign tips. GlowDown is designed to be private by default: your photos are analysed on your device and stay there. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected.

Summary

• We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data.
• Your photos, roasts, scores, history and settings are stored locally on your device.
• There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party backend operated by us.
• Roasts are generated entirely on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to any cloud service.
• The only time content leaves your device is when you tap Share, or open a shopping link in your browser.

Information the app handles

The following information is created and kept only on your device and is never sent to us:

• Photos — the images you capture or choose to roast, saved as files in the app’s private storage.
• Roast content — the generated roast text, Setup Score, verdict, tips and the roast history you keep.
• App settings and preferences — such as your theme, chosen language, default roaster, notification preference, and your Pro / watermark entitlement status.

How roasts are generated

When you roast a photo, GlowDown analyses the image locally on your device (for example, estimating overall brightness, colour and how busy the scene is) and then selects from a built-in library of roast lines and tips that ships inside the app. No photo, and no analysis of it, is sent off your device. There is no server and no online AI involved in creating your roast.

Device permissions and why they are used

• Camera — to take a photo to roast. Photos are stored locally.
• Photos / media — so you can choose an existing picture to roast. Selection happens through the Android system picker.
• Notifications — to show optional local reminders to re-roast your space. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
• Internet — used only to complete in-app purchases through Google Play, and to open shopping links in your browser when you tap them. GlowDown does not otherwise send your data over the internet.

Purchases

GlowDown offers one-time in-app purchases (“GlowDown Pro” and a “remove watermark” option). Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. GlowDown never sees or stores your payment card details; it only receives whether the purchase was successful so it can unlock the feature. Google’s handling of payment information is described in Google’s own privacy policy.

Shopping links

Redesign plans may include optional shopping suggestions. Tapping a suggestion opens a search on a third-party retailer’s website in your browser, and these links may earn GlowDown a small affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. Once you leave the app, the retailer’s own privacy policy and terms apply. GlowDown does not share any of your data with retailers.

Data sharing

We do not share your data with anyone, because we do not collect it. GlowDown contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no crash-reporting service operated by us. The only time your content leaves your device is when you share a roast or image using the Android share sheet, or open a shopping link yourself.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored locally, you are always in control of it. You can delete individual roasts within the app, and uninstalling GlowDown removes all of its data from your device. Anything you shared or saved yourself remains wherever you saved it until you delete it.

Content and appropriate use

GlowDown is meant to roast spaces and objects, for laughs. Roast text is generated automatically and is not directed at any real person. Please photograph rooms and things — avoid faces and anything private.

Children’s privacy

GlowDown is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Your data resides on your device and is protected by your device’s own security. Because nothing is uploaded to us, there is no server-side copy of your photos or roasts to protect.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
